WEDDING FILM FAQs

What is a highlight film?

A highlight film is recorded over the course of the coverage time (8 hours for example). The videographers will shoot a series of short clips over the day to be cut together to a music track that encapsulates everything that happened at your wedding. The finished film comes to about 5-8 minutes long in brilliant 4K.

Do you record audio?

Yes, in every video package we provide, audio is recorded. This is the most important factor to producing a beautiful and heartfelt video. During the ceremony and speeches, we may have up to 4 audio sources being recorded simultaneously for redundancy and quality using pro level audio recorders and microphones.

Are ceremony & speeches included?

Yes, for all ceremony only and full coverage packages, you receive a long form edit of those portions of the wedding with high quality audio. They will be captured with multiple cameras for the best angles and reactions in the crowd. The edited file is 1080P and delivered to your download and share hub.

1 or 2 camera operators?

With ceremony only & elopement packages there will be one operator running at least two cameras (one static and one mobile). All full day services comes with two so we capture from two angles at all times which gives the edit more depth including a drone operator. One only maybe requested if the logistics fits.

Do we get the raw footage?

Yes, with our team shooting so much raw data over the course of a wedding season, it is impossible to store all the data over time. We keep it locally for 6 months, but we give you a drive with all the clips to store for legacy sake after the edit is complete. They will be just the pure out of camera files, no additional trimming, stabilisation or colour correcting.

How long until we get the film?

Behind the scenes our team work really hard to not only create an amazing product, there is a lot of time required in post production when it comes to video. The first rough cut of the highlight is reviewed personally by me and refined until it is perfect. Everything down to the sound design, colour correction and clip timing. Typically this is around 12-14 weeks, but sometimes more or less.

Do we chose the music?

We have a large selection of licensed music tracks to choose from that will be expertly chosen to suit the mood, energy and feeling of your wedding. Pop songs cannot be used because we don’t have the rights to use them, it will date your video and the arrangements/pacing doesn’t often suit this type of video. The video team will make this choice for you.

Can we meet the video team?

Yes, we can arrange a meeting with myself and the chosen video team members pending their availability. For the scheduling part of the process, I personally handle all the timeline planning and organise the crew where and when they need to be. This is typically done via questionnaires around 7-8 weeks before the wedding.

Do we need to feed the crew?

As a general rule, if you sit down a meal at the reception we need to as well. Food is our fuel to shoot the best video possible! We don’t need a table setting, the venue will often have a space off to the side or out the back. Sometimes during our break we are backing up or transfering files and talking out the camera placement for the next formality.
