Marley & Matt’s Swallowfield Vineyards Wedding

Couple being showered with lots of petals at their wedding ceremony

Marley & Matt’s short but sweet wedding happened at one of my regular haunts Swallowfield Vineyards in Gembrook, deep into the hills of the Yarra Ranges surrounded by a lush 150 acres of vineyards, fields and bushland. Our gracious host Phil gave the wedding party a chauffeured tour around the property showing us the best photo spots with a sprinkle of his usual quick witted quips.

These two gorgeous people kicked off the day with a first look under the grand oak tree in front of the homestead with their little dude Lenny and their wedding party looking on. The weather could not have been better for the end of summer, a partly cloudy 20 degree day with little bouts of sunlight to warm up in. The ceremony ended with probably the biggest petal bomb I have seen, there is barely a photo I can see their faces through the white petal explosion. Lenny took it like a trooper though.

I got to borrow the wedding coordinator Aimie’s voice for the family pictures which was dealt with military precision. There will always be a spot next to me if you want to be a photo assistant one day Aimie!

Everyone immediately headed to the reception in the beautifully decorated barn for some hilarious and heartwarming speeches, wood fired pizzas with a boogie to follow with music curated by James of Wedding Sounds.
