Brittany & Kristinn’s Melbourne Treasury Wedding
I was honoured to photograph the wedding of Brittany & Kristinn at the Victorian Marriage Registry on Spring Street in Melbourne. This stunning, worldly couple share a love story shaped by travel and connection—meeting in Indonesia, becoming engaged in Iceland (come on-that is epic), and returning to Melbourne to celebrate their marriage in one of the city’s most iconic registry venues.
Their wedding day had a feeling unlike any other, filled with emotional depth and intentional moments. Getting ready together was a great way to start the day as well, which reduced stress and enabled me to capture some shots you don’t often get when couples get ready separately. Guests travelled from Iceland to witness their ceremony, experiencing not only the intimacy of a Treasury wedding, but also the unpredictable temperament of Melbourne’s 2025–26 summer we are having right now.
The day unfolded with a calm, unhurried pace—one of the many reasons couples choose the Vic Marriage Registry for their ceremony. Elegant details elevated the experience: a stunning wedding dress, a clean and timeless tux, a refined getting-ready location at the Park Hyatt Melbourne, and a reception styled with understated sophistication. Each location reflected the character and heritage of Old Melbourne, making the city itself a meaningful backdrop to their wedding day.
This was a wedding for the ages—intimate, considered, and deeply meaningful.
Tell me about the beginning!
We met in Bali and had a romantic dinner date when we were in our early 20s, and stayed in touch on and off over the years. We reconnected in 2023 and the rest is history!
When and where did you get engaged?
June 2025 in Hrísey (a tiny island) in the North of Iceland.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.
We have aimed for a simple but elegant style in terms of decorations. Recoleta as a venue has a lot of character anyway! We want the day to be relaxed whilst being lots of fun.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Just being together and cherishing every second as we have been doing long distance!
