Jennifer & Ahmed’s Winter Treasury Wedding

I am all about a sunny winter wedding. It is almost like having a golden hour all afternoon with amazing plays of light in Melbourne’s East End. Jennifer and Ahmed started their celebration with a cheeky cocktail in the Atrium Lounge in the Sofitel on Collins (one of my favourite city hotels to take photographs in) already dressed in their immaculate and unique outfits.

Jennifer was wearing a stunning hat to go with a superbly elegant dress that looked at home at a British Royal’s soiree (where she is from). Ahmed looked like an Egyptian James Bond in a classy double breasted suit that was made for him perfectly, embellished with a neck scarf which is an elevated departure from a tie.

The ceremony took place in the iconic Old Treasury Building (I am almost becoming part of the furniture there) in the intimate Thomas Hyde Room, with just the necessary two witnesses to look on. After that it was time to party with some additional friends back at the Sofitel with some champagne of course.

Tell me about the beginning!

We met on Hinge, skipped the endless messaging, and went straight for a walk. What was meant to be a simple first date turned into hours of conversation about absolutely everything.

Since then, we've been inseparable — exploring Melbourne, raising our rescue kitten Cleo, and finding joy in the everyday. We truly are each other's favourite adventure. ❤️

When and where did you get engaged?

Before our trip around Europe, Ahmed travelled to Birmingham to meet my family and ask my dad for his blessing, something traditional, but something I'd always hoped for. When my dad said yes, Ahmed proposed that very same day because, as he put it, he didn't want to wait another minute.

We then spent four unforgettable weeks driving around Europe together, celebrating the start of our next chapter. ❤️

What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.

We've decided not to be too "weddingy" and instead focus on what feels right for us. I'm wearing black and white, and Ahmed is wearing a beautiful chocolate brown suit. My mum is kindly providing some flowers that tie everything together, but we were never too worried about everything matching perfectly.

Rather than planning a big traditional wedding, we've chosen to keep things simple and meaningful. We want to enjoy the moment of getting married, have a giggle together, and celebrate without any stress. At the heart of it, the day is about us and the life we're building together.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Jennifer: Reading Ahmed's vows and marrying my best friend in the whole world.

Ahmed: Seeing you in your beautiful dress 😂

Your Top Tips on planning your day!

Keep everything really simple and don't do a single thing that isn't about just the two of you. I think if there is one single day in your whole life where you can be selfish it's probably the day you get married 🙂
