Jackie & Josh’s Melbourne Treasury Wedding
Today we head back to the city of Melbourne for the union between Jackie and Josh for a wedding done their way. Nice and relaxed with fifty of their nearest and dearest on one of the finest days in spring so far; 20 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We were able to settle into the day nicely by having some prep photos at the hotel, closely followed by a first look behind the Treasury building. Tensions must be high in the city though because for the first time ever we got told to move on by security staff at the Premier’s Office. So it will be in and out from now on! That one of my favourite shoot locations :(

Tell me about the beginning!
We met the old fashioned way...on the internet! We are a tinder success story. Jackie remembers his profile mentioning something about his "apartment smelling of rich mahogany" and she had no idea it was a Will Ferrel quote. We chatted for a while and Josh asked Jackie out on a date a few days later. Our first date was for korean bbq with a few drinks in the city afterwards.
When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged at Niagara Falls in September 2023. Josh told Jackie that it was time to pick out a ring and we started the journey together. Josh always had in mind he would pop the question while they were on holiday in Canada that year. He didn't quite have the time or place planned so when they arrived to Niagara Falls he had the ring in his pocket all day! After dinner Jackie noticed they had fireworks that evening and suggested that they get a bottle and head back to the room to watch them. Josh knew that was the time and place! He timed it perfectly and after he popped the questions the fireworks went off over the falls.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.
We really wanted our wedding to feel relaxed. Having our ceremony at the Treasury Building felt like the best choice as it was giving relaxed vibes...and also it seemed romantic to share the space with other couples who are tying the knot the same day as us. Choosing a pub as our reception venue felt like the best choice as we love the pub and our friends also love the pub! The Hardimans has amazing food and extensive beer range which is great for a chef like Jackie and a beer connoisseur like Josh. Both venues have an art deco style that compliments each other well, just like us!
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
The stressful part being over....!
But besides that we are very excited to start this chapter of our lives together. Being able to call each other husband and wife is something we are both looking forward to very much!

Less is more. If it is stressing you out too much, you probably don't need it. Remember that it's all about what you as a couple want!
