Grace & Max’s Fitzroy Gardens Microwedding
Grace and Max are one of those couples who are destined to be together, with a cuteness and fun loving vibe that is perfect for each other. Their wedding day was a perfect reflection of that, nice and chill, just having the immediate family for the ceremony in the Fitzroy Gardens on the steps of the Conservatory, conducted by I Do Drive Thru Weddings. Then the friends could join in at the party hosted at the very cool House of Plants in Abbotsford for signature cocktails and even a lego building station! What made is special was also having along their fur baby Olive, who was the goodest dog of them all.
Tell me about the beginning!
We've known each other since kindergarten, and had our first crushes on each other when we were young. However I moved to the next town over at 8 years old when my parents separated and we lost contact. Then Max moved to my high school, and the rest is history.
When and where did you get engaged?
Max proposed during a night away in a gothic mansion in Ballarat called the Bishop's Palace. Bless him, he's terrible at being nonchalant and I was onto him right away. He wrote me a song and performed it before getting down on one knee. I still have the written lyrics in my bedside table.
What style/theme have you chosen for your Wedding Day? Feel free to elaborate about your choices and venue.
We're a very chill couple having been together for so long, plus I work a stressful day job as a doctor, so I wanted a relaxed theme and honestly, something easy to put together. I've also never been the type of girl to dream about my own wedding, so when it came time to start planning I didn't know where to start! It was actually Max who found House of Plants - it fits my vibe already, without having to add in extra decorations or details. We want to have multiple options for our guests - dancing, drinking, catching up, and we plan on having some games and even some Legos to assemble for those who would rather that vibe for the evening.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
I reckon the entrance into the reception will be great, seeing everyone there!

Do not feel pressured to go big if that's not your vibe - I'm very much looking forward to a more chill party with all our loved ones.
